Celebrate Avurudu (New Year) With Sri Lankans

If you have been planning to visit Sri Lanka during April Season I would like to say you are eligible to celebrate Avurudu (New Year) With Sri Lankan People. You know, In Sri Lanka Majority Sinhalese and Tamil inhabitants celebrate their new year during the Mid-April (Approximately 13th and 14th of April). It can be considered as the most attractive and main Cultural ceremony in Sri Lanka even though they have various events and ceremonies.


                The special features of Avurudu season can be mentioned as People renovate their homes and colouring the walls, Buying new cloths and other stuff, Cooking and having meals together in each and every family at the auspicious time. Firing crackers and fireworks, organizing avrudu games, Visiting relation homes etc.

              This may be very important experience for the guests who having different cultural backgrounds. Specially for the visitors who coming from western countries. Sri Lankan people very generous and willing to welcome foreigners during the Avurudu season. So If you can come to Sri Lanka you will be able to celebrate with them and have a great time with them.
